My diary about my life as a writer, professional voice talent, entrepreneur, reader, gluten free advocate, and runner, random thoughts, new discoveries, and whatever else that keeps me in the pursuit of happiness.

Balancing Act

Coming up for air once again. Seems like when you have things that you're passionate about, you can throw yourself into them so deep that sometimes you forget to breathe. Because you enjoy what you're doing. You enjoy the path and the journey, even though it seems long and hard.

Your friends may not understand and tell you to stop or at least take a break. And they're right. Everybody needs a break to rest and regroup. But for some people, when you try to do that, all you think about is your passion and you're goal. You think about it to the point where your break seems pointless because you're still thinking about your next steps to reach your goal. So then, the point of taking a break seems, well, pointless.

What I'm learning is that taking a break and balancing takes effort. Just as much effort as you put into making your dreams a reality has to be put into stopping and taking a deep breath. You need time to spend with friends and family. Time to sit back and assess your journey. To be grateful and thank God for putting the fire in your heart and directing your path.

I accomplished my dream of being an author. I accomplished my dream of owning a business. I'm accomplishing my dream of being a professional voiceover talent.

It's time to focus on adding balance in the mix. Time to stop, look at the beauty of the roses and smell them.
